CALENDULA
Derived from marigold flowers, calendula is renowned for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps protect the skin barrier, all while nourishing the skin. Calendula is particularly effective at supporting skin repair.
Chamomile
Chamomile is a soothing herb that reduces redness while providing a calming effect. It effectively alleviates irritated skin, redness, itching, and common skin conditions in infants. Its rich concentration of flavonoids provides chamomile, making it ideal for sensitive skin.
Marshmallow Root Extract
Marshmallow root, a herb safely used for centuries, is renowned for healing red, damaged skin and relieving skin irritation. Research suggests that its topical application may help manage dry skin. With its anti-inflammatory properties, marshmallow root extract soothes and softens the skin, making it an excellent choice for sensitive skin.
Green Tea Extract
Green tea extract has soothing properties that help calm redness and ease irritation. It is rich in powerful antioxidants and essential skin-nourishing vitamins, including E and B2. The polyphenols in green tea help soothe sensitive skin and provide relief.
What We Couldn’t Find for Our Families, We Created
The Wash was mindfully developed by our founder Caitlin - a Midwife, Nurse, and Nutrition Consultant.
After years of being asked which baby wash she recommended, Caitlin realised she couldn’t confidently suggest one - most were filled with synthetic ingredients, harsh surfactants, nut oils, or food allergens, all of which can increase the risk of topical sensitisation, especially in delicate or dry, sensitive skin.

I bought The Oil and The Wash prior to bubs arrival and I have zero regrets. The oil was a godsend - I purchased to put on his little newborn bum to make sure his first poos didn’t stick, and it didn’t disappoint there. It did a perfect job protecting his skin and we still use it on his bottom 11 weeks on.
We also started using it all over during his first few weeks. He had a dry flakey scalp and lost his hair, so I started to massage or brush The Oil into his scalp after bathing in The Wash, and I think that combo rescued him. His hair is growing so nicely now and not a flake in sight.
Both of them together also helped to calm his hormonal breakout (“milk pimples” - see sad pic) - after every bath his skin looked so much calmer and happier.
The Wash is so gentle and gives a beautiful soap.

We absolutely love the body wash and body oil. I’m a Naturopath and found it difficult to find a body wash and oil that didn’t have any nasties in it at all (without making it myself, which I don’t have time for atm). Also I didn’t want lavender in it for my newborn (later on fine, but for early stages I didn’t want something too strongly scented).
This bath wash feels amazing when using it on bubba & it doesn’t foam up, which is when you know it’s natural!
The oil is perfect and glides on beautifully, and doesn’t have a strong scent.
This will be a staple for us with bub for a very long time.

This body wash has been fantastic for my baby’s skin, I’ve used it from the first bath until now - wouldn’t use anything else!
I absolutely love this body wash. My baby is 5months old & I’ve used it since he was a new born. It keeps the natural skin oils in check and downs dry out the skin. I had found it’s more efficient and effective if I pump it onto my hand.
I will be using this on going with bub for as long as we can.
Incredibly well used wash and oil for both my baby, and my belly for baby no 2! I simply don't trust anything else. These are made from clean ingredients and they WORK! I can see the results the day of. X
So happy to have found a daily moisturiser that 1) isn't greasy, 2) has non-toxic, all-natural ingredients, 3) doesn't give me a rash, and 4) is totally unscented and neutral-smelling, so won't mask my natural scent and confuse my newborn baby <3
I been using coconut oil since birth but it didnt fully nourish the dry patches on my babies skin. I found maternally happy and I love that the ingredients are all natural and allergy free! My son constantly complained of having itchy skin after his bath. Once I switched to The Wash, all the itchy and uncomfortable nights went away. I’m so glad we made the change and will continue using for his bath time. The only thing I wish we could have, is a bigger bottle :) It would make it so much easier to have a bigger bottle rather than storing multiple smaller bottles or buying one ever couple of weeks.

So happy to have found a product without food proteins to use on baby's skin. The oil is not too oily once dry and my baby's skin and scalp are no longer dry and flakey. The wash is not drying and I appreciate that it is unscented and not soapy.

Great to hear you loved the natural scent and feel of our wash! We totally get your concern about the stinging sensation if it gets in the eyes. As noted on the directions on the label, packaging, and website, we recommend keeping the product away from the eyes. Our wash is castile-based, meaning it’s packed with natural oils and gentle ingredients that are kind and nourishing to the skin. The reason for the stinging in the eyes is that natural oils, while fantastic for the skin, can sometimes throw off the delicate pH balance of the eyes. This is why we recommend avoiding the eyes as stated on our product.
We’re proud to formulate products that are as natural and safe as possible for your family. Many "tear-free" formulas out there use additives like SLS, SLES, and cocamidopropyl betaine to mask irritation and create a tear-free experience, but we avoid these ingredients due to some safety concerns.

Why does it have a neutral smell without a scent or fragrance?
Fragrances are a collection of chemicals that are used to give a product a certain smell or scent. According to the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) 3,059 materials can be used in fragrance. Many of which, have been linked to reproductive toxicity, endocrine disruption, allergies and more. In fact, a single scent can contain anywhere from 50-300 chemicals. You can read more on this here.
Our little one's organs and immune systems are still developing and are incredibly vulnerable to fragrance (hence the main reason we chose not to include it).
Does any potassium hydroxide remain in the wash?
Potassium Hydroxide is used to saponify olive oil into soap. It's what makes our formula soap/lather. None remains in the wash, but for transparency purposes, we choose to list it even when other brands don't.
Why isn't there coconut oil in your castile blend?
Castile-based products were first produced many centuries ago in the Castile region of Spain. Traditionally, Castile soap was made with 100% olive oil, without the addition of coconut oil. We wanted to honour these traditional practices. Additionally, some research suggests that topical exposure to coconut oil before oral exposure through the gut can increase the risk of allergies.
What is hydroxyethylcellulose?
Although it is a bit of a mouthful, this ingredient is a naturally derived thickening agent. Derived from cellulose, a sugar found in the cell walls of plants.
We were careful to avoid other ingredients such as citric acid, sodium benzoate, fragrances, parabens, phthalates, SLS, SLES and more.
As an eco-conscious small business, we aim to minimise plastic use as much as possible.
The potential risks of microplastics are greater for infants because they lack sufficiently developed metabolising enzymes, have a reduced ability to eliminate micro-plastics, and possess highly sensitive target organs. Because of this, plastic bottles were not an option.
Additionally, our amber glass bottle protects our formula from UV radiation.

Why doesn't your product form a lot of bubbles?
This was intentional. Many bath products contain Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS), Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES), Ethoxylated Compounds to make the product "bubble"
However these chemicals have been linked to skin related irritations and may be something you want to avoid if your little one has any existing skin conditions or dry, sensitive skin.
